ACOTAR Book Club (A Court of Thorns and Roses) 
2nd & 4th Friday of the month, 6:30pm-8pm 
Begins June 12th – Nov 13th & Jan 2027-Feb 2027 

Meeting twice a month, the 2nd Friday & 4th Friday. This is a place to discuss the ACOTAR fantasy romance series by Sarah J. Maas before the release of book #6 in October 2026. The general outline is one book per month. June = ACOTAR. July = ACOMAF. August = ACOWAR. September = ACOSF. October = recap. Nov = book #6 **We are intentionally skipping the shorter novella ACOFAS**  Dec = skipping. Jan = recap before book #7. Feb = book #7. 

Bring your copy of the book, your fan theories and get ready to dive into the world of Prythian! Ages 18 + 

 

Pageturners

Do you know a good book for de-stressing? For reading on the beach, beside the pool, or in the airport as you travel to your vacation destination? Bring your favorite and find out what other readers are recommending. Here’s a few Fredricksen Finds: 

June – Beach Read (Emily Henry). A romance writer who no longer believes in love and a literary writer stuck in a rut engage in a summer-long challenge that may just upend everything they believe about happily-ever-afters. 

July – The Spy Coast (Tess Gerritsen). When a body turns up in her driveway, former spy Maggie Bird, forced into retirement after a mission went tragically wrong, turns to her "Martini Club" of former spies to help her uncover the truth about who is trying to kill her, and why. 

August – The Heart in Winter (Kevin Barry). Award-winning writer Kevin Barry’s first novel set in America, a savagely funny and achingly romantic tale of young lovers on the lam in 1890s Montana. 

 

Mysteries and Mayhem - Internationale
Thursday, June 25; Monday, July 27; Monday, August 24; 7 pm - 8 pm   

Read books that challenge your curiosity and sleuthing abilities. And this time, we take a look at some books set in or written by authors from the international community. Prepare for intriguing discussions about how the author developed the character of the detective or sleuth; plot twists that did or didn’t work; and how themes of justice, truth, deception and morality figured into the story. Ages 18+.  

June – The Unquiet Dead by Ausma Zehanat Khan (Iran). An accidental fall from a cliff doesn't seem to warrant a police investigation, particularly not from a team which handles minority-sensitive cases. But the victim may have been living under an assumed name and may have been a war criminal with ties to the Srebrenica massacre of 1995. This is a complex and provocative story of loss, redemption, and the cost of justice. 

July – Murder on the Leviathan by Boris Akunin (Russia). Paris, 1878: An eccentric antiquarian and his ten servants are found murdered and a priceless Indian shawl is missing. There is one piece of evidence from the crime scene: a golden key shaped like a whale, a ticket of passage for the Leviathan, a gigantic steamship on its maiden voyage to Calcutta. The murderer must be among its passengers. 

August – The Case of the Deadly Butter Chicken: A Vish Puri Mystery (India). Vish Puri, the gormandizing, spectacularly mustachioed sleuth finds himself facing down his greatest fears in an explosive case involving the Indian and Pakistani mafias. The book features mouthwatering recipes from his own family’s kitchen, and a taste of India alongside the thrill of a rich and fulfilling whodunit mystery.  

 

Romantasy All the Way 
Sundays, July 19, August 16, and October 18; 1:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. 

Join with other like-minded Romantasy readers for the Romantasy All the Way Book Club. We will read one book a month, focusing on magical adventures with just the right amount of spice. Expect great discussions, endless TBR additions, and a cozy space to fangirl together. The first book we will discuss is The Stars Are Dying by Chole C. Peñeranda.
