This month's choice is a thoroughly engrossing look in to the closed world of the Amish, as well as a thought-provoking examination of “civilization” and what remains if the center cannot hold. You must have read or listened to the book to participate. Register online. 

No-No Boy Multimedia Concert

Tuesday, September 25 at 7 pm

No-No Boy is a multimedia concert performed by Julian Saporiti and Erin Aoyama. Taking inspiration from interviews with World War II Japanese American concentration camp survivors, his own family history living through the Vietnam War, and many other stories of Asian American experience, Saporiti has transformed his doctoral research at Brown University into folk songs in an effort to bring these stories to a broader audience. 

The Lighter Side of the Law

Tuesday, October 2 at 7 pm

Enjoy an evening learning about some of the quirky legal cases and strange decisions by judges. Come and enjoy learning about some quirky cases – or those decided by some quirky jurists! Atty Kathi Simpson of Mette Evans and Woodside will cover cases where reality is stranger than fiction. No registration necessary.
