Request Item

Step 1:

  • Does the library have it?Request It button (sample)
    • Search the online catalog for the item. (Pro Tip: If you want materials available at the library right now, use the Refine section on the left to choose Availability = At the Library and Location = your pickup library.)
       
    • If you have found a title you want to borrow, you can have it reserved by requesting it. Just click the Request It button next to any item.
       
    • If you haven't already logged in, enter your library card barcode number or your username and PIN.
       
    • Choose your pickup location.

  • If you have a deadline, please enter it. Your hold will be cancelled for you if it is not available before the deadline.
     
  • Click Submit to be placed in the queue. Holds are filled in the order they are received with priority given to people picking it up at the owning library.

Step 2:

If the item you seek is not in the catalog and it was published in the last year...

If the library decides to purchase this item for their collection, you will be put on the request list for it!

Step 3:

If it's not in the catalog and it's an older title...

  • Please use this form to request an inter-library loan.  You'll need to login with your barcode and PIN first.  The form that opens is to request a book. If you'd like to request a different format, select the format under Other Inter-Library Loan Options.

Please note: Due to increased shipping costs and in an effort to maximize limited funds available to support our communities, effective January 11, 2024, the library will be providing Interlibrary Loan (ILL) services using only the Access Pennsylvania (Access PA) catalog.
