The Cumberland County Library System is a great place to work. The system and its local libraries employ over 160 people. About 20 of these positions are professional librarians and the rest are library assistants, clerks or custodial support. Most positions are part-time. Each library is an independent, non-profit institution and staff are employees of the local library. The library system's administrative office staff are employed by Cumberland County government. |
The New Cumberland Public Library has an opening for a part-time Circulation Assistant, primarily in our Children's Department with several hours at our main Circulation Desk. Are you looking for a part-time job where you can make a difference in your community? We'd like to hear from you!
Hours: Mondays 1:00 pm to 8:15 pm, every other Thursday 5:30 pm to 8:15 pm, and at least two Saturdays per month. Ability to substitute preferred.
Hourly Rate: $12.00
East Pennsboro Branch Library is seeking a part-time Program Specialist to plan and present educational, entertaining, and enriching in-person library programs and outreach for all ages. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about coordinating and presenting a wide variety of programs, including but not limited to informational/educational programs with our community partners, games, STEAM activities, and story times. The Program Specialist will also be trained on circulation tasks to act as a substitute during staff absences.
Schedule: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm weekly and Saturdays once per quarter between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm (depending on the programming schedule). Must be available to work the library booth at Pumpkin Fest annually on Columbus Day weekend. This is a year-round position. This is not a remote position.

The Program Specialist will provide outreach programs to schools and other local organizations and will handle our Summer Reading performers on program days. The Program Specialist will also be trained on circulation tasks to act as a substitute during staff absences.
Schedule: 15-18 hours per week (daytime), including Saturdays twice per month. Specific hours will be determined by the programming schedule. Must be available to work the library booth at Pumpkin Fest annually on Columbus Day weekend. This is not a remote position.

Simpson Library is hiring a Children's Programmer to plan and implement educational programs for preschool and school age children.
This part-time position works 22 hours/week during daytime, evening, and weekend hours. Schedule subject to change as deemed necessary to meet library operating requirements. $14/hour depending on experience.
