The Cumberland County Library System is a great place to work. The system and its local libraries employ over 160 people. About 20 of these positions are professional librarians and the rest are library assistants, clerks or custodial support. Most positions are part-time. Each library is an independent, non-profit institution and staff are employees of the local library. The library system's administrative office staff are employed by Cumberland County government. |
East Pennsboro Branch Library is seeking an enthusiastic and creative Children’s Program Specialist to present preschool Story Times, family programs, and other programs; visit preschools, schools, daycares, and community organizations; represent the library at community events, and coordinate Summer Reading performers and attendees on program days. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for children’s literature and strong communication skills to engage young audiences through stories, songs, and activities that create interactive, enjoyable experiences and inspire a love of reading and learning.
Schedule: 15 to 18 hours per week, with shifts scheduled in the morning through mid-afternoon. Weekday shifts (Monday through Friday) vary based on the library’s programming needs. Saturday availability is required: 1 to 2 Saturdays per month, increasing to 2 to 3 Saturdays per month in June and July for Summer Reading. Must also be available to represent the library at annual local events. This is a year-round position.
Classification: Part Time/Non-Exempt
Pay Rate: $16.83/hour
