Cindy Mortzfeldt, Vice President (Term expires January 2021). Cindy joined the Board of Trustees in January 2018, and is in her first term of office. Professionally, Cindy retired with over 39 years of experience in Pennsylvania Schools as an Elementary Classroom Teacher, Reading Specialist, and numerous Administrative Positions. Most recently, Cindy retired in December 2017 as Executive Director from the Capital Area Intermediate Unit. Cindy’s credentials include a B.S. in Elementary Education, a M.Ed. in Reading, and a Certificate in Education Administration. Cindy is Chairperson of the St. John's Preschool Commission Board, a board member of the United Way of the Capital Region, and Chair of the United Way Core Solutions Partners Education Committee. Cindy resides in Monroe Township with her husband Perry. They are proud parents of two grown daughters.
Judy Souleret, Board Secretary (Term expires January 2023). Judy joined the Board of Trustees in August 2016 and is in her second term of office. Professionally, Judy retired from the Judiciary where she worked as the Project Manager for the Administrative Office of Pennsylvania Courts. Judy’s credentials include a BA Degree in Political Science and Economics from Indiana University of PA and Social Studies Certification in Education from Susquehanna University. In addition, Judy is a member of the Shiremanstown Planning Commission, the Shiremanstown Historical Society, Historic Harrisburg Association, and Friends of Wildwood. Judy resides in Shiremanstown with her husband Charlie. They are parents of one daughter and proud grandparents of two grandchildren.
Rob Moran (Term expires January 2023). Rob joined the Board of Trustees in January, 2020, and is in his first term of office. Rob is a Principal with Ancora Imparo, The Learning Group, LLC. Rob served as interim CEO or COO for a number of state-based, national, and international organizations, most recently as the interim CEO of Community Aid, based in Mechanicsburg. Rob has a BA from the University of Maryland, and MBA from Marymount University, and an MPA in Public Administration from Harvard University. He is also an experienced executive leadership coach and facilitator. Rob’s board experience includes Derry Township School Board, Pennsylvania Association of Nonprofit Organizations, and the American Health Care Association Executives. Rob resides in Silver Spring Township with his wife, Nancy.
Annie Standley (Term expires January 2023). Annie joined the Board of Trustees in January, 2020, and is in her first term of office. Annie is a retired Certified Public Accountant from Arthur Andersen, LLP. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Business from UCLA. Annie served on the Penn State Hershey Cancer Institute Development Committee for six years and was on the Wildcat Foundation Board of Directors for three years. Annie lives in Upper Allen Township with her husband, John.
Leah Roshetar (Term expires January 2021). Leah joined the Board of Trustees in May, 2019, and is in her first term of office. Professionally, Leah is the Administrative Fellow at Geisinger Holy Spirit Hospital. Leah’s credentials include a BS in Biology from Roanoke College; a BA in French from Roanoke College; and a Master’s in Healthcare Administration from The George Washington University. Leah is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and the Healthcare Financial Management Association. She is a graduate of Leadership Cumberland, class of 2019.
Dr. Patricia Sanker (Term expires January 2022). Patty joined the Board of Trustees in 2016 and is now in her second term of office. Professionally, Patty retired from the South Middleton School District after serving 15 years as Superintendent of Schools and a total of 38 years as a teacher and administrator in PA public schools. Her credentials include a BS Degree from Indiana University of PA, a M.Ed. from Shippensburg University, and an Ed.D. from the Pennsylvania State University. Patty is a member of the PA Association of School Administrators (PASA), PA Association of School Retirees (PASR), Penn State Alumni Association, and the Upper Allen Township Woman’s Club – GFWC. She resides in Upper Allen Township. Patty is the mother of one son and proud grandparent of two grandchildren.
Alan Vandrew (Term expires January 2022). Alan joined the Board of Trustees in January, 2020, and is in his first term of office. Alan is an Associate Professor at Shippensburg University. Previously he served as the Assistant Superintendent / Chief Financial Officer for the Mechanicsburg Area School District for over 30 years. His credentials include a BA from Shippensburg University, an MPA in Public Administration from Penn State, and a D.Ed. In Educational Administration and Leadership from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Alan serves as Secretary for the Mechanicsburg Cemetery Association and is Past President of the Mechanicsburg High School Alumni Association. Alan lives in Upper Allen Township with his wife, Karen.
Donna Weldon (Term expires January 2022). Donna joined the Board of Trustees in 2019, and is in her first term of office. Professionally, she is a retired Partner of the law firm of Keefer Wood Allen & Rahal. Her practice was in the area of education law and she served as solicitor to several school districts and Chief Counsel of the Pennsylvania Association of Elementary and Secondary School Principals. Prior to her private practice, she was employed by the Pennsylvania Department of Education as an Assistant General Counsel and Acting Executive Assistant for Public Affairs to the Secretary of Education. She began her career teaching senior high school English. Donna resides in Upper Allen Township with her husband Bob. They have two daughters and one grandson.
Jonathan Williams (Term expires January 2023). Jonathan joined the Board of Trustees in 2014 and is now in his third term of office. Professionally, he is employed as Investment Market Manager for Central Pennsylvania at PNC Bank. His credentials include a BA in English from Dickinson College. Jonathan has worked for the past 25 years in the Financial Industry and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and a Certified Financial Planner (CFP). He serves as treasurer on the Cumberland County Library System Board. Jonathan resides in Upper Allen Township with his wife Jackie and three daughters.
Earnie Zimmerman (Term expires January 2021). Earnie joined the Board of Trustees in 2012 and is in his third term of office. Professionally, he is the owner of Zimmerman Plumbing and Heating in Mechanicsburg. Earnie has been in business for 36 years. In addition to serving on the Simpson Library Board, he is a member of the Cumberland Perry Vocational Technical School Advisory Board. Earnie resides in Carroll Township with his wife Kelly Bailey. He is the father of two daughters and three bonus children. They are proud grandparents of five grandchildren.
Allen Warshaw (Term expires January 2022). Allen joined the Board of Trustees in January, 2020, and is in his first term of office. Allen is a retired attorney and worked for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Duane Morris LLP, and Rhoads and Sinon. Allen is a graduate of the Villanova School of Law and the University of Pennsylvania. He serves on the Community Check Up Center Board of Trustees since 2014, serving five years as President, and served on the Planned Parenthood of Central PA Board of Trustees for three years. He was also President of the Mechanicsburg Soccer Association, was a member of the Mechanicsburg Area School District Board of Directors, and a member of the Wildcat Foundation board. Alan lives in Upper Allen Township with his wife, Shirley. They have three sons and two grandchildren.
Marilyn Zywiec (Term expires January 2022). Marilyn joined the Board of Trustee in 2016 and is in her second term of office. Professionally, she is co-owner of Computer Information Systems, Inc., a company founded in 1985. Marilyn’s credentials include a BS degree in Applied Mathematics from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. In addition to serving on the Simpson Library Board, Marilyn serves on the West Shore Chamber Governmental Affairs Committee, she is Treasurer for Hope United Methodist Church in Mechanicsburg, and belongs to the Effective Communicators Club of Toastmasters International. Marilyn resides in Silver Spring Township with her husband Wayne. They are parents of two children.
Sue Erdman, Executive Director. In 1996, Sue was hired as Executive Director by the Board of Trustees. Previous to her current position, Sue served as Assistant Director of the Bosler Memorial Library in Carlisle. Sue’s credentials include a Master’s Degree in Library Science from Shippensburg University. Since 1997, Sue has been a member of the Mechanicsburg North Rotary Club. In addition, she has served on various local boards in leadership positions including the Mechanicsburg Chamber of Commerce, Downtown Mechanicsburg Partnership, and Mechanicsburg North Rotary Club. Sue resides in Monroe Township with her husband Bob. Early in Sue's career she was awarded the New Librarian Honors Award by the Pennsylvania Library Association in 1990. In 2013, Sue was honored as the Downtown Mechanicsburg Partnership's Person of the Year award recipient. Simpson Library received Standards of Excellence accreditation by the Pennsylvania Association of Nonprofit Organizations in September 2015 and re-accreditation in 2019. Sue is a member of the Mechanicsburg Area Community Foundation Advisory Committee.
