Simpson Library's Summer Learning Program

Unearth a Story LogoIt's almost time for Simpson Library's 2026 Summer Learning Program, Unearth a Story!

All ages are invited to join us for the annual Summer Learning Program from June 1 - August 15! Register online starting May 1 and then track your reading and activities online with Beanstack starting June 1 to keep learning and earning prizes. You can also download and use the Beanstack Tracker mobile app to log your reading and activities.

We are offering special programs and events for all ages! Take a look at the calendar and click forward to June, July, and August to see all that's planned!

Everyone can earn prizes for reading this summer!

Children will track reading and do activities to earn many fun prizes. You won't want to miss the special performances every week and unique programs offered only in the summer!

Teens will track reading and do activities to earn raffle tickets for a chance to win one of eighteen fabulous prizes.

Adults are challenged to log each book they read through August 15. Each book read and logged is an entry into a weekly prize drawing and an entry into the grand prize drawing. Go a little further and complete the Reader's Dozen Challenge to earn a special prize.

Back this year: GO Cumberland!

The GO Cumberland! program encourages us to Get Outdoors and Choose an Adventure! Search for fifteen wooden marker posts or with a unique etching attached that are hidden in fifteen local and state parks in Cumberland County. When you find the marker posts, you will see the unique etching, along with a 4-digit code. Make sure you remember this code (take a picture, write it down, etc.) and do not forget to enter it into the Beanstack app to earn credit for your hike and be eligible to win prizes from WellSpan Health.

Questions? Come on into the library, call 717-766-0171, email mechanicsburg@cumberlandcountylibraries.org, or send us a message on Facebook or Instagram and we'll help you out.
