12:45 pm: Becoming Part of Our World - The Basics of "Mermaiding" - Gingersnap the Mermaid is a professional mermaid entertainer who will introduce you to the world of mermaiding, and take questions you may have! Whether you are looking to buy your first tail, are curious about the many parts of the world of mermaiding, or want to know how to safely model as a mermaid or water creature cosplay, this panel will help educate a growing fandom so they can safely and successfully dive into the mermaid community. Bring your questions, and something to take notes! Gingersnap (Jillian Breneman) is a local, professional entertainer with a background in theatre, film acting, modeling, children's education, live entertainment management, and small business.  

1:00 pm: Kpop Book Chat! - Join authors Jessica Yoon (Kpop Demon Hunters: The Official Deluxe Junior Novelization, My Little Golden Book About K-Pop, BLACKPINK: A Little Golden Book Biography, Jeong Is Jeong, and The Legend of Ba-Dal) and Talia Tucker (Solo Stan, Rules For Rule Breaking, and the forthcoming Ghosted, Stray Kids: A Little Golden Book Biography, and A Little Sweet Treat Bakery) for a K-pop book chat! They will discuss their love of K-pop and how they got into writing both K-pop and non-K-pop-related books, then have an audience Q&A. Make sure to stop by their booth for author-signed books and merch!

Visit our Youth Services Department for these exciting activities and guests!

Spider Duck Cosplay! - Children ages 5 to 12 are invited to pick up a "Spider Duck" from the Youth Services Department between Monday, October 12 and Sunday, October 18 and create a cosplay costume for it and return it to the library by 8:00 pm on Friday, October 23. The cosplayed ducks will then be on display all day at Comic Con! Children may pick up their ducks to take home between Monday, October 26 through Sunday, November 1. 

Fun Face Paint! - Children up to 12 years old can stop by and get their face painted! Available from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm

Ryan "The Bug Man" - Visit Ryan "The Bug Man" Bridge in our Youth Services Programming Room as he showcases a variety of different insects and bugs! Ryan will be available all day in the program room to answer all your bug related questions!

Forgotten Friends Reptile Sanctuary - Visit the Youth Services Department between 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm and meet some reptiles! Jesse will have a variety of critters available for you to interact with and learn about!

Activity Tables - stop by these free activity tables and make a variety of crafts!

Counting Contest! - Guess how many spiders are in our jar! Available for children ages 3 to 12 only. The child with the closest guess will be announced the week after Comic Con. If multiple people tie for the closest guess, the winner will be randomly selected from those entrants.

Spider-Man Villain Scavenger Hunt - Venture around the Youth Services Department and see if you can find Spider-Man's villains! Three random winners will be selected from those who complete the hunt and will win a stuffed Spider-Man!

Spooky Saturday - Bosler is thrilled to participate in Downtown Carlisle Association's Spooky Saturday! Visit the Youth Services Department to pick up your treat.

 

CRAFTS, GAMES, AND ACTIVITIES


Starfleet Academy Trials - Could you be a cadet at Starfleet Academy? Test your skills in these trials! Get a team together and journey around the library trying your hands at a variety of tasks, including Star Trek trivia, combat simulation, and more. The team with the most points at the end of the day will win a Star Trek prize bundle!

Henna by Hephzibah - Get an authentic Henna Tattoo! Available on the first floor from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm and from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm. The line will cut off at 3:30 pm. 

Roll for Loot - Roll our giant d20 and win a special prize depending on your roll! Attendees can only play once, but you might be able to give yourself advantage!

Green Screen Photo Booth - Visit our photo booth and transport yourself to your favorite fandom location!

Pick Your Side - Do you think Jar Jar Binks should have been in Star Wars or not? Could Jack have fit on that door at the end of Titanic? Are these easy questions for you? Well then, you’re ready for some tougher ones! Visit the circulation desk, look at some popular fan arguments, and then take a colored jelly bracelet to show off your side!

Potions 101 - Are you feeling witchy or wizard like? Would you like to attend Potions class at the Library? Visit the Potions 101 table to create your color-changing potion and bottle it to take home with you! Parental supervision is recommended for young children.

Star Wars Scavenger Hunt - Venture around the library and find these fan favorite characters! Return your packet for the chance to win a Star Wars themed prize!

Hunger Games Suncatcher - Create your own Mockingjay Suncatcher!

Fallout Survival Guides - Pick up your own survival guide and color it!

Shai-Hulud - Construct your own Shai-Hulud with construction paper!

Pokemon Escape Room - See if you can escape our digital Pokemon themed escape room!

Beatrix Ebonmourne - Beatrix Ebonmourne is an illustrator and mural artist based out of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. She specializes in using mediums both physical and digital to conjure fantasy, sci-fi, and horror. 

Celestial Raposa Zone - Sophie (AKA Celestial Raposa Zone) is an artist who mainly focuses on zines, stickers, and prints! She has a lot of art inspired by Fallout, Pokemon, Minecraft, and original characters!

Orion Zangara - Orion Zangara is a freelance illustrator and comic book artist based near Washington, DC. He graduated from The Joe Kubert School, an institution specializing in sequential art, founded by his legendary grandfather, Joe Kubert. Orion is the illustrator of the horror Christmas anthology "Silent Nightmares," edited by Michael Bailey and Chuck Palahniuk, the author of "Fight Club." This collection of original dark holiday stories will be published in Fall 2026 by Saga Press Books, an imprint of Simon & Schuster. Previously, he illustrated "The Stone Man Mysteries," a young adult horror mystery graphic novel trilogy co-written by New York Times best-selling author Jane Yolen and Adam Stemple, published by Lerner Publishing Group. Although his favorite genre is horror, he draws and loves all sorts of genres: superheroes, fantasy, science fiction, and realism. He is excited to draw whatever is required for his clients. Ginergersnap the Mermaid - Jillian is a signed actress, model, and professional entertainer from South Central PA. She has stage, commercial, and full-length film credits. Jillian is also a professional entertainer known as ""Gingersnap the Mermaid"". She was crowned Miss Mermaid PA in 2021 under the Miss Mermaid International Pageant Program; a title which she still carried. She has since made appearances as a mermaid at businesses and events across PA. In the beginning of 2025, she published her first children's coloring storybook which she wrote and helped illustrate. ""Gingersnap the Mermaid: A Coloring Storybook"" shares stories of her adventures as a mermaid, and is filled with facts about different bodies of water around South Central PA, as well as other places she has traveled with her mermaid tails. She currently focuses on her business as a professional Entertainer, specializing in entertaining at events all over the Mid-Atlantic region as a mermaid, fairy, or pirate. When she is not doing that, she is taking other acting opportunities, dabbling in cosplay and modeling, or refining her skills in scuba diving and freediving. Joseph David Cress - Joseph David Cress, author of Quirky Carlisle, will be selling copies of his books along with Magic the Gathering cards.

Riley Haring - Riley Haring is an illustrator specializing in concept art, comic art, and character design. He grew up in a bookstore, and this unique upbringing instilled him with a passion for reading, writing, and the art that ties it all together. He has illustrated two children’s books for that bookstore, Cupboard Maker Books, Mouse the Bookstore Kitten and Prince Fluffytail Chases a Dragon. He also self-publishes art and character design zines. Riley has also worked as a freelance illustrator for seven years. He hopes to one day publish more of his stories and art, and eventually develop a game based on those worlds.
