50th Anniversary Celebration

On July 4th, 2026, we will celebrate 50 years of the Benjamin House as the home for the New Cumberland Public Library. From now until that event, we hope you will join us in visiting the Library, attending special events, and helping to spread the word to your friends and family that we have a big birthday to celebrate!
We hope you will join us as we read and learn and grow together!
The Friends of New Cumberland Public Library are collecting donations to help fund future programming at the Library. Click the button above to donate online, or make your donation in person by dropping off a check made out to Friends of the New Cumberland Public Library, and include "50th Anniversary" on the memo line.

In honor of this 50th anniversary, the Friends of the New Cumberland Library have mugs and totes available for sale. The mugs are $12 and the totes are $6. They are available now while supplies last. You can purchase at the library by cash or check made payable to the Friends of New Cumberland Library.

As we celebrate 50 wonderful years of serving our community, we want to hear from you —
Do you have a favorite memory of visiting the library? Did you attend a storytime, meet a favorite author, or discover a book that changed your life? Maybe you simply remember the joy of finding a quiet corner to read. No memory is too big or too small — we’d love to hear it all!
Please share your stories, photos, or reflections from the past 50 years.
Your memories may be featured in our anniversary displays, on social media, or in a special commemorative booklet!
Submit your memory online by clicking the button above, or in person with the form available at the Library's front desk.
Please join us at events, exhibits, and programs all year long!
The most important way to support the Library is to use it - borrow books, eBooks, and audiobooks, attend programs, use computers or printers, ask librarians for help - you’re directly showing that the library matters to the community. Thank you!
