Interested in Dungeons & Dragons but wished it was less time-consuming? Here is your chance to try the Index Card Role Playing Game (ICRPG). Join us virtually on the 1st and 3rd Friday of each month while we play in this new format. The game play is shorter and more interactive, the rules are simpler, there is minimal math involved, and it’s still a great time gaming together! Perfect for first-timers or gamers with busy schedules. Come give it a try as RPG expert/Game Master, Jon Langer, leads you through an evening of tabletop gaming. Ages 14 and older, please. Registration begins January 2 and is required for Zoom link.

1:30 pm – 3:30 pm in the Community Room, Lower Level
Bring your creativity and drop in anytime from 1:30 to 3:30 pm to use our supplies and paper to do some DIY paper-crafting, including scrapbooking and card making. Project ideas will be available. Feel free to bring your pictures and your own supplies to work on your ongoing projects. We will also have a table for making cards for children who receive items from Caitlin’s Smiles.
For all ages: under 13 must be accompanied by an adult. Registration and masking is required.

*There will be a limited number of grab and go bags for those who cannot attend the program. Available on a first come first served basis, no registration necessary for bags.

Do you want to enjoy some close up magic, but you’re just too cozy to leave home? We have great news for you! Master magician DAN KAMIN responded to the Covid crisis by creating a mind-bending performance of eye-popping online magic called SHAZOOM!  It’s up close and personal, and it beams from Dan’s Magic Parlor directly to your home.  The virtual party runs approximately an hour.  Because there is a lot of audience interaction during the program participants are asked to make themselves visible on Zoom. We suggest that you read this article, The Escape Artist, Dan’s highly entertaining account of how the legendary Harry Houdini got him started in magic.  Dan Kamin trained Robert Downey, Jr. for his Oscar-nominated performance in Chaplin and created Johnny Depp’s physical comedy moves for Benny and Joon.  He also played the vengeful wooden Indian that came to life in George Romero’s cult horror classic Creepshow 2.  He performs in theatres and with symphony orchestras worldwide.  Registration is needed for Zoom link and begins November 15. No age limits are required, but the show is best suited for ages 8 and up.

All Cumberland County Libraries, including Fredricksen, will be closed on Wednesday, October 27 for Staff Development Day. No items will be due, no fines will accrue and no holds will expire. We'll reopen on Thursday, October 28 at 9 am.
