Petting Zoo and Ice Cream, Too!Join us on the library grounds between 6 pm and 8 pm on Friday, July 19 for a petting zoo with animals from Double Vision Acres, then treat yourself to ice cream with all the fixings! This FREE EVENT is open to the community and all ages are welcome.

Christmas In JulyChill at the library with us for Christmas in July! Learn the basics of beading while listening to snowy music and enjoying holiday refreshments. (We may even forget how hot it is outside!) We will teach you helpful tips so you can complete a beautiful Mill Hill Snowflake Kit at home. Sunflower MosaicSorry. Registration for this program is full. Come make your own bright & beautiful sunflower mosaic! This is a beginner-level workshop hosted by Amanda from Mosaic Montage. No prior experience is needed. You will be given a 10” tall sunflower cut out and you can pick from rich brown and beautiful yellow smooth, machine-tumbled stained glass to create your mosaic. You’ll learn the basics of making a mosaic and about the supplies needed to create your work of art.  At the end of this 2-hour program, you will be able to take your sunflower home with you. Space is limited. Materials fee of $30 is due at time of registration. This program is for adults, age 18+. Call (717) 486-3688 to register.

Jay Arthur Balloon ArtistSATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 16! Balloon Artist Jay Arthur will visit from 9:30 to 11:30 am. The Holly Festival runs from 8 am to 2 pm on Chestnut Street. Stop by the Amelia Givin Library booth across from the fire station. Children will receive a free Scholastic book! Books and balloons are sponsored by the Friends of Amelia Givin Library.

Cookie BakersThose donating cookies for the Friends Holiday Cookie & Bake Sale are asked to deliver their baked items to the library on Tuesday, December 5 during regular library hours (10 am  - 7 pm) or before Noon on Wednesday, Dec 6. The sale begins at 4 pm Wednesday.

Holiday Cookie SaleThe library lower level will be filled with tables laden with dozens and dozens of cookies! Make your choices and Friends volunteers will fill containers for you. A small container is $8. Large containers are $14. SALE HOURS: Wed 4-7 pm, Thurs 10 am-7 pm (or until sold out). Other baked goods and ornaments also for sale. Please enter the lower level of the library using the ramp at the back parking lot.

Holiday Open HouseSaturday, December 7 from 1 to 3 pm. Stop in to see the historic building decked out for the holidays! There will be a train display, a children's craft, hot chocolate, cookies, and a chance to win door prizes. Santa arrives at The Santa House located on the library front lawn at 1 pm.
