Book Sales
The next book sale is September 16-19. The library lower level will be filled with a wide selection of used books, audiobooks, music CDs and movies at bargain prices. Cash, checks and credit cards accepted. PLEASE NOTE: We cannot accept large donations of used books/items until after this sale due to lack of storage space.
BOOK SALE HOURS
Wednesday, September 16 - 11 am to 8 pm (begins AFTER morning storytimes)
Thursday, September 17 - 10 am to 8 pm
Friday, September 18 - 10 am to 6 pm (Sorry, no Wee Build Open Play this day)
Saturday, September 19 - 9 am to 4 pm
Saturday is also the Holly Day Festival. Children who visit the library booth on Chestnut Street will receive a FREE BOOK!

Fill one of the provided bags for $12!
We provide the bag and you may fill it with any of the items that are for sale for one low price. Purchase as many bagfulls as you like for $12 each. For those who don't want to purchase a bagful, items are still available for individual sale at our regular bargain prices (see below).

BOOK DONATION GUIDELINES
*SPECIAL NOTE FOR AUG/SEPT 2026 - NO STORAGE SPACE - The Amelia Givin Library is not able to take large donations of books, DVDs, CDs until after the September book sale due to lack of storage space. We can accept donations of just a few items now. We will gratefully accept your additional book donations after September 19.
Please donate books only during regular library hours.
Your donations of good-condition books, DVDs, music CDS, books on CD, and video games are gratefully accepted at the front desk during regular library hours.
(Please do NOT put book donations in the book drop, or place them outside the building.)
DONATED ITEMS MUST BE:
- clean, odor-free and in good condition.
- published within the last 5 years.
- Sorry, NO encyclopedias, textbooks, mass market paperbacks or magazines.
- limited to a maximum of two plastic grocery bags or two medium-sized boxes of donated items per family per week. (Our library has limited space to process and store donations.)
If you would like assistance with dropping off your donations, phone the library at (717) 486-3688 when you arrive, and we can meet you at the basement door in the back of the library to accept your donations.
