Finance at John Graham

Library funding is a complex balance of public and private funding. John Graham Library is an independent non-profit organization 501 (c) 3.  There are 6 municipalities in the library's direct service area:

  • Newville Borough
  • North Newton Township
  • Cooke Township
  • West Pennsboro Township
  • Penn Township
  • Lower Mifflin Township

Funding for the library comes primarily from county, state, and local private sources. Many local municipalities also support their library each year. As a member of Cumberland County Library System (CCLS), John Graham Library is able to share resources, materials, and technology with the seven other public libraries in the county, controlling costs and expanding access to resources. The library is a Newville Community Chest agency, and recipient of grants, donations, and gifts. The Friends of John Graham Library host book sales and special events to raise funds for the library. John Graham Library offers its services and materials at no charge, and any and all support is greatly appreciated!
