Adult & Teen Summer Reading Program
Are you ready for some new adventures this summer? The Amelia Givin Library is ready! Click here to print a challenge kit, or pick one up at the library front desk. You also have the option of completing the challenges using the Beanstack App or Beanstack website. You have 10 weeks to complete 10 different reading adventure challenges! Challenges may be completed in any order. Complete as many as you want – it’s up to you! This program is for adults and teenagers (those who are rising 6th graders and older).

Challenges may be completed in any order. Complete as many as you want – it’s up to you!
A different book must be read for each of the 10 Reading Adventure Challenge drawings.
You may keep track of your completed challenges on Beanstack OR with the printed forms available at the library. (If you use Beanstack, the library staff will enter your name in the corresponding drawings.)
- What’s the Buzz? It’s time to read that book that you hear everyone talking about!
- Under the Sea: Read any book with a setting related to water OR a book with a blue cover.
- No Mountain High Enough: The book for this challenge needs to have 500 pages or more!
- Seashells by the Seashore: Enjoy any book considered a “beach read” OR a book with a story that takes place in the summer.
- Time Machine: Choose a historical book – fiction or non-fiction will do just fine!
- Reunion Time: Read a book by your favorite author OR re-read a favorite book that you have not read in 5+ years.
- I Scream, You Scream: A book with a story as sweet as ice cream OR a thriller that makes you want to scream!
- Going on a Bear Hunt: Pick a book that takes you on a new adventure OR read a book from a new-to-you genre.
- Backyard Picnic: Read an inspirational book OR a book that reminds you in some way of your family.
- Hello, My Name Is…: Choose a biography or autobiography about someone you’ve never heard of OR about someone you admire.
PARTICIPATION GIFTS - CHALLENGE PINS
No matter how you track your adventures, be sure to stop in the Amelia Givin Library to pick up the corresponding Adventure Challenge Pin for each challenge you complete! These 1-inch collectible pins, custom-made by the Amelia Givin Library, will commemorate each adventure challenge you complete this summer.
Check out the display pins on your next library visit. Don’t wait until the end of the summer reading program to collect your pins! Pins will be available this summer and then they will be gone forever! Only one pin per person, per challenge. Participants will not be allowed to pick up pins for anyone other than themselves, and may pick up 3 different challenge pins per library visit.
12 PRIZE DRAWINGS
After the 2024 Summer Reading Challenge ends on August 10, there will be 12 prize drawings.
The deadline for all prize drawings is Saturday, August 10, 2024. (Participants are not able to win more than one of the twelve drawings)
- 10 different bookishly curated prizes - one for each of the 10 Reading Adventure Challenges
- $50 Amazon Gift Card - drawing from all participants that read 8 books from at least 4 different challenges
- $50 Amazon Gift Card - drawing from all participants that completed ALL TEN adventure reading challenges
