The Benefits of Storytime

Reading to children helps to promote healthy brain development as well as grow their vocabulary and listening skills. Listening to stories can also improve their focus and concentration. Exploring different stories is a great way for children to explore the world around them in a safe and comfortable manner while also encouraging the use of their imagination. It allows them to discover new things and learn to ask questions about what they are seeing or hearing. This can also help build their social emotional skills by using stories to help process emotions or situations that they may be facing.

All of this starts as early as infancy, which is why we offer three different storytimes for different developmental stages. There is Baby Time for birth to 18 months, Toddler Tales for 19 to 35 months, and Preschool Storytime for 3 to 6 year olds. All of our storytimes use a mix of books, songs, rhymes, finger plays, and hands-on activities to help your child explore their world and discover new things.

Our regular storytimes are available all year long, every week! Check below to see the ages and days and times available. These storytimes do not require registration, please drop-in!*
