Missing Email Notices?
Email companies are getting stricter with mass mailing services and that includes the library's hold and overdue notices. We're learning library notices are unexpectedly being filtered into spam and junk folders.
Here are some tips for you as we work toward better solutions:
- Check your Spam or Junk mail folders for library notices. Mark library emails as "not junk" or add the library email addresses to your contact list.
- Know your due dates.
- Know how to view and manage your account online. Library staff are happy to help!
- Try to set your email account to allow emails from the following addresses: (not guaranteed to work)

- bosler@cumberlandcountylibraries.org
- eastpennsboro@cumberlandcountylibraries.org
- fredricksen@cumberlandcountylibraries.org

If I forget my library card, can I still borrow materials?
If you forget your card and need to borrow items, you must provide identification (such as a driver's license).
How to find older titles not owned by Cumberland County Library System?
If a title is not owned by our libraries, you can request to borrow the item from another library within Pennsylvania. To do this, complete the Inter-Library Loan Requests form. Select the form for the type of item you’d like to borrow. We have separate forms for:
How often are overdue notices sent?
Email and telephone overdue notices are sent one week after an item is overdue, and a second notice is sent two weeks after the item is overdue. Mailed overdue notices are sent two weeks after an item is due. A final notice that includes a bill for the item(s) is sent three weeks after the item is due.
After two months, if you still haven't made payment arrangements, your account may be referred to a collection agency if it has $25 or more in fines, fees or outstanding materials. A long overdue account fee is also charged to the cardholder.
How much does printing cost?
Public printing at the library is $0.25 per page. Find out about related services here.
How much does a library card cost?
Your first library card is free. If you live outside Cumberland County and do not have a valid Access Pennsylvania card, you may purchase a non-resident card for $5 per month.
How long may I keep my materials?
Most items are available for 14 days with 3 renewals. DVDs, Playaways, and Video Games are available for 7 days with 3 renewals. Hotspots have 14- and 30-day loans. Due date receipts and account tools can help you track your due dates.
