Chamber Music and Spooky Fairy Tales

Saturday, October 31 at 2 pm

Market Square Concerts present a special Halloween program of live chamber music and fairy tales for all ages in our beautiful atrium.  The program will feature Grimm Brothers' "Hansel and Gretel" and "No Harm Done:  A Halloween Tale" by Lucy Murray with the music by Thomas Kraines performed by violinist Peter Sirotin, concertmaster of the Harrisburg Symphony, Fiona Thompson, principal cellist of the HSO and a narrator. All ages welcome with no registration.

Kids & Companions Book Club

Monday, October 19 at 6:30 pm

Great fun and conversation!  Kids and an adult they want to bring along reading and talking about books together.  We'll be meeting monthly to share a book, a snack, and our ideas and opinions.   The October book will be Wonder by R. J. Palacio. The November book is Same Sun Here by Silas House and Neela Vaswani. December book to be announced. For ages 9 – 12 and any adult of their choice. Registration begins Oct. 5, Nov. 1 and Dec. 1.

Teen NaNoWriMo Prep Party

Teen Writers planning to take on the 2015 NaNoWriMo challenge beginning November 1 don't want to miss our prep party.  Meet up with other writers, generate ideas, get organizational tips and more. For teens 12 years old and up, grades 7 - 12.

Fall Story Times - 6 week sessions

September 21 - October 30

Join us at these age appropriate programs that promote literacy and provide a fun first experience at the library. These story times will help increase children’s vocabulary, comprehension and ability to interact socially. Contact the library for specific session days, times and age groups. Registration is required.
