What's the difference between a temporary card and a permanent card?

Temporary cards let you begin using our web site resources immediately. Until you get your permanent card, you won't be able to borrow books or use your library's Internet computers. Temporary Card Memberships let you:

  • Request up to 2 items through the online catalog. Permanent cards allow you to request up to 15 items.
  • Begin using the library system's searchable resources right away, such as genealogy, business, investment and homework support databases. These databases have online books, encyclopedias, reference sources and magazines.
  • Please note that downloadable content (eAudios and eBooks) are not available to temporary card holders.

Your online temporary card is good for only 30 days. By the end of the 30 days, you must visit your library to show identification, complete the registration process, and pick up your permanent card.
