OpenThe Amelia Givin Library is open to the public for in-person service during regular hours. Face masks are required for anyone ages 2 and older when inside the library. Computers are available for sessions up to 1 hour. For complete details, please click above.




Here's what you need to know.

Amelia Givin Library hours remain the same as they were before the library closed for COVID-19:
Monday through Thursday  10 am - 8 pm
                                  Friday  10 am - 6 pm
                              Saturday   9 am - 4 pm

To prevent the spread of COVID-19, face masks must be worn while inside the library (including for children ages 2 and older). Those who are not willing or able to wear a face mask for any reason may use our curbside pickup service or online resources. Please maintain a distance of at least 6 feet from others while visiting the library. Please also make use of the hand sanitizer provided in the library.

Computer time is limited to 60 minutes. Staff will not be able to assist with computer issues and questions due to social distancing requirements.

You may return items using the book slot in the side door when the library is closed. During business hours, please place returned items in the cart provided to the side of the front desk. If you are picking up hold items at curbside, you can return items at the same time. Simply notify staff you have returns when you call and they will provide a book crate where you can place your returned items.

Amelia Givin Library continues to provide curbside holds pickup for those who do not feel comfortable entering the library to pick up their reserved items.
    STEP 1: Place your holds online using the library catalog or call Amelia Givin Library at (717) 486-3688.
    STEP 2: We will send you a notice by email or phone (like we always have) when your holds are ready to be picked up.
    STEP 3: When you arrive at the curb on Church Street near the library side entrance, call the library at (717) 486-3688. We will package your items and deliver them to your car. Tell us if you have library items to return and we will provide a bin in which you can place them. Note: All returned items are quarantined for 3 days before getting checked in and reshelved. Items will remain on your account during this time, but will NOT accrue fines.
    STEP 4: Enjoy your items!
          PLEASE NOTE:Fines and fees cannot be paid at curbside pickup. No book donations are being accepted at this time
