Indie Film & Chat: Trail Magic (chat at 7:00 pm only)

FROM THE USA:  This month, we are working in collaboration with Longwood Gardens, The Appalachian Trail Museum and Keystone Trails Association on a Countywide Community Read of the book Grandma Gatewood's Walk. The film and discussion, with director Peter Huston (7 pm showing only), will tell even more of the inspiring story of the spunky woman who saved the Appalachian Trail.  The story of Grandma Gatewood will inspire viewers of all ages by illustrating the full power of human spirit and determination. No registration necessary.

Potboilers and Blockbusters

In March, Potboilers and Blockbusters will offer an opportunity to discuss the book Grandma Gatewood's Walk: The Inspiring Story of the Woman Who Saved the Appalachian Trail by Ben Montgomery. This will be part of a community-wide read in partnership with the Cumberland County Library System, Longwood Gardens, The Appalachian Trail Museum and the Kesytone Trail Association.

Meadowview Street Storytime

We are hosting a special Community Read event, sponsored by Longwood Gardens, as part of our regularly scheduled Preschool Storytime. We will read On Meadowview Street, a new book by Henry Cole.  Children will create a gardening-themed craft.

 

In Storytime children share stories, rhymes, songs, activities, and crafts mostly independent of caregivers.  Younger siblings may play with caregiver outside of the room.

Toddlertime is a child/caregiver activity which includes rhymes, stories, songs, crafts, play and activities.  Older siblings may attend as helpers!
