New Cumberland Public Library Friends Garden Tour
The Friends of the New Cumberland Public Library will hold a New Cumberland Garden Tour on Saturday June 17, 2017 from 10:00 AM until 4:00 PM. Twelve unique gardens are all to be found within a mile radius of the Library, which will also be included as one of the gardens on the tour. A gardener or a gardener want-a-be will find everything imaginable in this garden faire. Annual, perennial, and vegetable gardens will be available to view. Terraced, rock, ponds, mushroom, and roof top gardens will be shown. One garden is National Federation certified, which includes hummingbird and bee attracting gardens. Secret gardens, fairy gardens, and a 70-varieties-of-hostas-lush-shade garden, as well as outdoor living spaces, pergolas, zen, Americana, and ¼ acre tiny gardens make this tour a feast for the gardeners' senses.
The Friends of the Library Garden Tour Committee has worked diligently to ferret out every conceivable garden for garden tour attendees to enjoy. Advance tickets will be $10, and may be purchased at the Library. The day of the tour tickets will be sold for $12. Garden Tour tickets will also be sold in the Foundation House during the first and third Saturday book sales from 9am-3pm. Maps for the self-guided garden tour will be at the Foundation House the day of the tour. The Friends will be holding a Saturday pre-owned book sale the same day from 9:00am until 3:00pm. Proceeds from the Garden Tour will benefit the New Cumberland Public Library. Further information is available by contacting the Library's main desk at 717-774-7820.
