Cindy Mortzfeldt, Vice President (Term expires January 2021). Cindy joined the Board of Trustees in January 2018, and is in her first term of office. Professionally, Cindy retired with over 39 years of experience in Pennsylvania Schools as an Elementary Classroom Teacher, Reading Specialist, and numerous Administrative Positions. Most recently, Cindy retired in December 2017 as Executive Director from the Capital Area Intermediate Unit. Cindy’s credentials include a B.S. in Elementary Education, a M.Ed. in Reading, and a Certificate in Education Administration. Cindy is Chairperson of the St. John's Preschool Commission Board, a board member of the United Way of the Capital Region, and Chair of the United Way Core Solutions Partners Education Committee. Cindy resides in Monroe Township with her husband Perry. They are proud parents of two grown daughters.
Judy Souleret, Board Secretary (Term expires January 2022). Judy joined the Board of Trustees in August 2016 and is in her second term of office. Professionally, Judy retired from the Judiciary where she worked as the Project Manager for the Administrative Office of Pennsylvania Courts. Judy’s credentials include a BA Degree in Political Science and Economics from Indiana University of PA and Social Studies Certification in Education from Susquehanna University. In addition, Judy is a member of the Shiremanstown Planning Commission, the Shiremanstown Historical Society, Historic Harrisburg Association, and Friends of Wildwood. Judy resides in Shiremanstown with her husband Charlie. They are parents of one daughter and proud grandparents of two grandchildren.
Karen Cochran (Term expires January 2020). Karen joined the Board of Trustees in 2011 and is now in her third term of office. Professionally, Karen retired as Librarian at Boiling Springs High School, South Middleton School District. Her credentials include a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree from Shippensburg University. She is the Past President of the Upper Allen Women’s Club – GFWC, a member of the Pennsylvania Citizens for Better Libraries, a member of the Pennsylvania Library Association, Past President of Friends of the Joseph T. Simpson Public Library, President of the Upper Allen Women’s Club Foundation, and Chair of the Fund Raising Committee of the Upper Allen Women’s Club – GFWC. Karen resides in Upper Allen Township with her husband Jim. They are parents of two children and proud grandparents of six grandchildren.
Nick Johnson (Term expires January 2020). Nick joined the Board of Trustees in January, 2017, and is in his first term of office. Professionally, Nick is the Vice President of Supply Chain for Quality Packaging Specialist International, a company specializing in Supply Chain, OTC, and Pharmaceutical Packaging. Nick holds a degree in Finance from Kutztown University. He is Secretary of the Camp Hill Soccer Club, Head Basketball Coach for Camp Hill Recreational Basketball, and Assistant Coach fo the Camp Hill Soccer Club. Nick resides in the Borough of Mechanicsburg with his wife Sarah. They are proud parents of two children.
Leah Roshetar (Term expires January 2021). Leah joined the Board of Trustees in May, 2019, and is in her first term of office. Professionally, Leah is the Administrative Fellow at Geisinger Holy Spirit Hospital. Leah’s credentials include a BS in Biology from Roanoke College; a BA in French from Roanoke College; and a Master’s in Healthcare Administration from The George Washington University. Leah is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and the Healthcare Financial Management Association. And, she is a graduate of the Leadership Cumberland class of 2019.
Dr. Patricia Sanker (Term expires January 2022). Patty joined the Board of Trustees in 2016 and is now in her second term of office. Professionally, Patty retired from the South Middleton School District after serving15 years as Superintendent of Schools and a total of 38 years as a teacher and administrator in PA public schools. Her credentials include a BS Degree from Indiana University of PA, a M.Ed. from Shippensburg University, and an Ed.D. from the Pennsylvania State University. Patty is a member of the PA Association of School Administrators (PASA), PA Association of School Retirees (PASR), Penn State Alumni Association, and the Upper Allen Township Woman’s Club – GFWC. She resides in Upper Allen Township. Patty is the mother of one son and proud grandparent of two grandchildren.
Pat Vance (Term expires January 2020). Pat joined the Board of Trustees in January, 2017, and is in her first term of office. Professionally, Pat is a retired Senator from Cumberland County who served as a Pennsylvania State Senator from the 31st district from January 4, 2005 to November 30, 2016. Prior to that, she served as a member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from the 87th district from 1991 to 2004. Pat also served as Recorder of Deeds in Cumberland County from 1978 to 1990. Prior to elective office she was a surgical pediatric nurse in the Harrisburg Hospital. For the past 54 years, Pat has resided in Silver Spring Township. Pat is a member of the WITF Board of Directors, the Stabler Foundation Board of Directors, and the Hospice of Central Pennsylvania Board of Directors. She has one son and three grandchildren.
Donna Weldon (Term expires January 2022). Donna joined the Board of Trustees in 2019, and is in her first term of office. Professionally, she is a retired Partner of the law firm of Keefer Wood Allen & Rahal. Her practice was in the area of education law and she served as solicitor to several school districts and Chief Counsel of the Pennsylvania Association of Elementary and Secondary School Principals. Prior to her private practice, she was employed by the Pennsylvania Department of Education as an Assistant General Counsel and Acting Executive Assistant for Public Affairs to the Secretary of Education. She began her career teaching senior high school English. Donna resides in Upper Allen Township with her husband Bob. They have two daughters and one grandson.
Jonathan Williams (Term expires January 2020). Jonathan joined the Board of Trustees in 2014 and is now in his second term of office. Professionally, he is employed as Vice President and Investment Advisor at PNC Bank. His credentials include a BA in English from Dickinson College. Jonathan has worked for the past 25 years in the Financial Industry and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and a Certified Financial Planner (CFP). He serves on the Central PA Board of Directors of the Estate Planning Council. Jonathan resides in Upper Allen Township with his wife Jackie and three daughters.
Earnie Zimmerman (Term expires January 2021). Earnie joined the Board of Trustees in 2012 and is in his third term of office. Professionally, he is the owner of Zimmerman Plumbing and Heating in Mechanicsburg. Earnie has been in business for 36 years. In addition to serving on the Simpson Library Board, he is a member of the Cumberland Perry Vocational Technical School Advisory Board. Earnie resides in Carroll Township with his wife Kelly Bailey. He is the father of two daughters and three bonus children. They are proud grandparents of five grandchildren.
Marilyn Zywiec (Term expires January 2022). Marilyn joined the Board of Trustee in 2016 and is in her second term of office. Professionally, she is co-owner of Computer Information Systems, Inc., a company founded in 1985. Marilyn’s credentials include a BS degree in Applied Mathematics from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. In addition to serving on the Simpson Library Board, Marilyn serves on the West Shore Chamber Governmental Affairs Committee, she is Treasurer for Hope United Methodist Church in Mechanicsburg, and belongs to the Effective Communicators Club of Toastmasters International. Marilyn resides in Silver Spring Township with her husband Wayne. They are parents of two children.
Sue Erdman, Executive Director. In 1996, Sue was hired as Executive Director by the Board of Trustees. Previous to her current position, Sue served as Assistant Director of the Bosler Memorial Library in Carlisle. Sue’s credentials include a Master’s Degree in Library Science from Shippensburg University. Since 1997, Sue has been a member of the Mechanicsburg North Rotary Club. In addition, she has served on various local boards in leadership positions including the Mechanicsburg Chamber of Commerce, Downtown Mechanicsburg Partnership, and Mechanicsburg North Rotary Club. Sue resides in Monroe Township with her husband Bob. Early in Sue's career she was awarded the New Librarian Honors Award by the Pennsylvania Library Association in 1990. In 2013, Sue was honored as the Downtown Mechanicsburg Partnership's Person of the Year award recipient. Simpson Library received Standards of Excellence accreditation by the Pennsylvania Association of Nonprofit Organizations in September 2015 and was named Reader's Choice Library by Harrisburg Magazine in 2017 and 2018. Sue is a member of the Suez Water Customer Advisory Council.
