What is the Marketplace

The Marketplace is a new way to buy health insurance for qualified individuals and employers. It allows apples-to-apples comparisons of health plans and provides unbiased customer support.

These plans must provide information on premiums, deductibles, and out-of-pockets costs before you enroll. It is also a one-stop shop to determine if you are eligible for:

  • health plans through the marketplace
  • tax credits to lower premiums
  • reduced cost sharing
  • Medicaid and CHIP
