We are pleased to offer free one-on-one consultations for up to an hour to help you navigate the basics of your eDevice! Just call in to reserve up to one hour with one of our trained Reference Librarians who will assist you with downloading eBooks and eAudiobooks, as well as offer basic help with your tablet. You must have the device, login name and password with you for your appointment. To reserve a time slot, call 717-761-3900 x225.

Join us as we partner with Susquehanna Folk (sfmsfolk.org) and travel (rain or shine) to the stunning Smithsonian Folklife Festival, held on the National Mall in Washington, D.C.

At the annual Smithsonian Folklife Festival, you can meet communities from around the world presenting music, dance, crafts, foodways, storytelling, and other living traditions. Their goal is to strengthen and preserve these cultures by presenting them on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. This year's focus is Armenia and Catalonia. Learn about feasting and handmade craft traditions, meet artisans, taste ancient wine varietals, and picnic on the National Mall with Armenia folk and jazz music. Price includes: round trip motor coach transportation from Camp Hill, boxed continental breakfast served en route to Washington, D.C., free time to explore and participate in the Smithsonian Folklife Festival, and gratuity for bus driver. The bus departs from the Camp Hill Radisson's parking lot at 8:30 am. On the way home, we will make a stop for dinner on your own. We will return by 9:30pm.  Cost: $45.00 per person. Donating blood may be one of the most important things you’ve ever done. 10 Thursdays, 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm  (August 2 - October 4) 

Masland Board Room, Lower Level

Designed for learners who have had little or no previous exposure to the Italian language, the fun and relaxed environment will get you working on the basics of Italian grammar and conversation. The course is divided into sessions of 10 classes each and participants are invited to plan on attending at least two sessions to gain a basic grasp of the language. The instructor, Anna Maria Bertini-Jones, is an Italian native teacher with extensive experience in teaching Italian in college courses and elective adult classes. She travels to Italy every year to reconnect with her family, her culture and her beautiful country. Ages 16 and older. Cost: $100 for 10 classes. This class is designed for those who have already taken Italian for Beginners I or who have an equivalent knowledge. The course is divided into sessions of 10 classes. The Friends of Fredricksen will hold Donation Station on the first Saturday of every month to accept donations of books and media for their Book & Media Sales.  To drop off donations, please park in the lower parking lot nearest to the sidewalk.  Donations at all other times can be made at the Reference Desk whenever the Library is open.  Thank you for thinking of the Friends when you have extra books!

Come join us at this writers group that provides aspiring writers a forum for their literary work and feedback from their peers in a respectful and friendly environment. This is a chance for you to grow in your craft and help others improve in the art of writing.  The group meets the first and third Monday of most months.  Attendance is free, but registration is advised as there is limited seating.  If you are not ready to share your writing, feel free to observe and listen or even offer your comments during one of our scheduled meetings.  Registration begins July 1.
