The Cumberland County Library System (CCLS) consists of 7 federated local libraries, 1 branch facility, a system headquarters office and an associated non-profit Cumberland County Library System Foundation. The library system provides service to more than 260,000 people in Cumberland County and a small portion of Franklin County.

Knitting at the library…now there’s something we don’t hear about very often. You’ve heard of ladies knitting in the library of their own homes or possibly in the parlor, but it’s not something you hear of taking place at a public library.

Finishing touches are expected this spring to the Children’s Learning Garden on the Bosler Memorial Library campus in Carlisle.
That was the word last week from Executive Director Jeffrey Swope in the lead-up to an open house scheduled for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 20.

John Graham Library receives donation from Friends
The Friends of the John Graham Library presented a check for $20,000 to the John Graham Library on February 23rd. It will be used for shelving and other expenses required for the recent building addition.

After several months of waiting, anticipation and labor, the new addition at the John Graham Library is finally open and ready to put to good use. According to Library Director Mary Schoedel, she can't wait to fill the room with books and other materials.

The Christmas season is looking a lot brighter this year around the John Graham Library. The new addition that began to show life to the rear of the property in early fall is nearly complete. If all goes well, the remaining work could be done by Christmas and after that library director Mary Schoedel is anticipating the new children's wing to be operational in early 2024.
