Support the Shippensburg Library by purchasing unique ornaments

The Shippensburg Public Library is again sponsoring a holiday ornament for purchase. It is the fourth in a series. The 2018 ornament depicts the statues of two children sharing the pleasure of reading a book as they sit on the bench in front of the town's gazebo.

Shippensburg library to sell new holiday ornament

The Shippensburg Public Library will sell its fourth annual ornament, which this year celebrates the Shippensburg community, including the university.

South Middleton Township approves tentative budget with no tax increase

So far, it appears no surprises are in store next year for South Middleton Township taxpayers.

Finally, the proposed budget includes a $1,500 donation to the Amelia Givin Library. In September, library director Cynthia Stratton-Thompson requested a yearly donation from the township for the facility.
 


Above the Book Nook

Adjacent to the Shippensburg Public Library along West King Street is a smaller brick building built by George Stewart Jr. to serve as both his garage and office. This building now houses the Friends of the Shippensburg Public Library and is known to many townspeople as the Book Nook.

Proclamation honors the Friends of the Library
