What is Sticker Day?

Sticker Day is a day to celebrate all things stickers! The first stickers began as tax and postage stamps in the 1800s, but they have come a long way since then and there are a variety of uses and styles today. There are political stickers, band stickers, and bumper stickers. There are funny, cute, congratulatory, and animal stickers. The observance is in honor of R. Stanton Avery, who was born on that day in 1907. Avery was the original creator of the adhesive label with removable backing and founded what is now Avery Dennison Corp. to manufacture and market them worldwide.
