April is Financial Capability Month, as such, our Midweek Money Matters sessions will focus on things we can do to make wise and safe financial decisions. We will cover important topics like budgeting, the true costs of credit, teaching kids to save, and even an introduction to home buying! It is an exciting month; be sure to register for each session you plan to attend. Registration is limited, so don’t delay!

4/6 & 4/7 – Money Management and Budgeting – These days we can all use a little reminder on money management and budgeting. Whether it is a crash course in the reality of the economy or a quick refresher, this session will include “paying yourself first,” setting goals, and planning what you will do with your money. It’s the perfect way to kick off Financial Capability Month.

4/13 & 4/14 – Understanding the True Cost of Credit – It is easy to pull out a credit card to make that purchase. But have you considered what the cost of the item purchased on your credit will cost in the long run? We will help you become a more informed borrower by discussing the ins and outs of fees and costs associated with credit purchases.

4/20 & 4/21 – Top 10 Ways to Teach Kids to Save –Teach Children to Save Day is on April 22nd! Join us as we talk about ways to teach children to save and the importance leading by example. Key topics will include when to say “yes”; creating a spending plan; saving intentionally for those things that we “want,” while making sure that our needs are met; and more. Do not miss this unique opportunity.

4/27 & 4/28 – First Time Home Buyers: Where do You Start – With interest rates lower than ever, many people are considering buying a home. If you are a first-time home buyer, or it’s been years since you owned a home, knowing where to start with one of the biggest financial decisions is critical. This session will cover common first-time home buyer tips as well as provide some not-so-common tips that can go a long way in helping to ensure that you are well equipped for that homebuying process.
