Two men shaking handsWatch the recording of the conversation with John (Jack) Murray on the history and his remembrances of New Cumberland. Jack Murray was born in New Cumberland in 1934 and grew up in the Borough, first leaving during his service in the Army in Korea. In total, Jack has been a resident of the Borough for 83 years of his 88 years. Elected to Borough Council in 1976, he served all 44 years of his tenure as Council President. During his time in Borough Government, he was an instrumental participant in the conversion of the Benjamin Property into the New Cumberland Public Library.
