Whereas many visitors to the Gettysburg Battlefield learn the major events of what occurred there during the first three days of July in 1863, what about the men and regiments that fought there? There are over 1,000 statues, monuments, tablets and markers on the battlefield dedicated to the individuals and regiments that fought there. Mr. Doran, a retired high school social studies teacher, has spent years traipsing across the battlefield examining these memorials and learning their stories. Please join him for a brief lecture that he has entitled, "Gettysburg, a Monument Sampler."
The Cultural Series is made possible through a generous grant from Members 1st Credit Union.
