Art in the Stacks: 1st Floor Showcase
October 1 - November 30, 2025
Featuring Artist Ellen King in the Main Floor Showcase
In October, Artist Ellen King will display the exhibit titled The Beaded Garden in the main floor showcase. This exhibition's theme is nature, specifically florals and bugs. Each card is watercolor paper that has a design made with either watercolor markers and beading or just beading. Each bead has been handsewn on the paper with a needle and thread. Ellen King (she/her) is a painter and beading artist. She uses nature as her inspiration with artwork focused on botany, geology, and entomology. Her hand-sewn beaded card and artwork series was completed during the pandemic. Ellen currently lives in New Cumberland and works in the education field.
Art in the Stacks is a monthly gallery series at the New Cumberland Public Library in partnership with the New Cumberland Collective. Each month will feature a new local artist exhibit in the library's gallery spaces.
