In this three part series parents will be learning the art of infant massage and be guided through instruction on how to massage their own babies. The class will be taught by Wendy Spicer, a certified infant massage instructor, from PinnacleHealth's Infant Development Program. Understanding and beginning touch early in life can improve the quality of parenting and family life as well as promoting the well-being of the infant. The program contains such critical elements of bonding as eye-to eye contact, smiling, soothing vocal sounds, loving touch, caressing, smell, and mutual interaction.
Bring a soft comfortable blanket to lay your baby on and dress your baby in easy to remove clothing. Parents will receive a bottle of massage oil and stroke book. For infants under 1 year and their caregivers – register March 28. Sponsored by PinnacleHealth.
