THANK YOU for the 1,000s of entries in our Summer Reading Drawings & Games!

THANK YOU TO ALL WHO ENTERED THE DRAWINGS FOR THE SUMMER READING PRIZES - AN iPAD, and Family Pool Memberships for Camp Hill, Hampden and Lemoyne Pools.  Winners will start to be contacted Monday, June 20th.  The first name drawn from Summer Reading Registrations AND new cardholder registrations will have FIRST choice of the 4 prizes, the second name, second choice, etc.  

The Summer Reading Kickoff Giftcard Drawings Have also closed and will be pulled and the Guessing games winners determined.  Closest guess (under or over) wins.  In the event of a tie, the winning guesses will go in a drawing and a winner randomly pulled.  Winners will be contacted starting Monday, June 20th.

June 1 to August 15 on Beanstack

Join us for our 2022 Summer Reading Challenges for all ages! Earn badges, prizes, and tickets for the grand prize drawings by reading and logging whatever you like and doing activities related to Oceans of Possibilities! Beginning June 1, register at fredricksen.beanstack.org and then stop by the library to grab your summer reading grab and go bag (while supplies last for Adults and Children).

GO CUMBERLANDGO Cumberland Challenge! 2022 Get Outdoors Challenge
June 1 to August 15 on Beanstack

Let’s get outdoors this summer! Join us for Cumberland County’s first ever GO Cumberland challenge for all ages. Beginning June 1, register at fredricksen.beasntack.org, and then pick up a GO Cumberland booklet (one per family) at the library. Throughout the summer, get out and go hiking. Enter the secret codes you discover and be entered to win prizes. See booklet (available June 1) for more details. Sponsored by Wellspan and Cumberland County Library System.

With physical comedy, juggling, circus tricks, yo-yos, audience participation and more, Andrew's high energy show will put you in a festive mood! Seating is limited; first come, first served. *Program will move inside if weather is an issue.

This interactive show is crawling with fun and laughter! Presented by Forgotten Friend's herpetologist, author, photographer, and certified class clown, Jesse Rothacker. Jesse the Reptile Guy brings learning to life with fifteen live snakes, lizards, turtles, and crocs. You'll meet reptiles from around the world, and a few from your own backyard! Seating is limited. First come, first served. *Program will move inside if weather is an issue.

Our first annual Midsummer Night event! We will present A Midsummer Night’s Dream, with our own young community performers. Bring your blankets and chairs, and enjoy a beautiful family evening of storytelling, music, and fairies! Seating is limited. *Program will move inside if weather is an issue.

 
 
 

mppTuesday, June 28 at 10:30 am on the Lawn

Join Music, Play, Patrol for a unique experience to add to our summer of fun! This program gets both adults and kids up moving and dancing to the beat! Children get to learn about and play an authentic African djembe and play other West African instruments like the Talking Drum, Shekere, and Gourd Drum. The session ends with a dance and drum circle. Seating is limited. First come, first served. *Program will move inside if weather is an issue.

 

Ryan the Bug Man

We are so excited to welcome back, Ryan Bridge, “The Bug Man,” to Fredricksen Library! Ryan is a passionate entomologist and loves teaching people about insects while “keeping it fun and exciting.” He hosts a wide range of fun and educational programs using LIVE BUGS!
