The 2016 Employment Opportunities Expo was held on Wednesday, October 19th throughout the library. Over 670 community members attended to gather information about embarking on a Career Path—they interacted with agencies to assist them in overcoming obstacles to employment, explored educational opportunities within our community, attended Career 101 workshops to learn job-readiness skills, and culminated their journey through the library in a community job fair.
In our Atrium, 35 organizations informed those attending about assistance resources and educational opportunities in our area. On the lower level, in the Small Meeting Room, Career 101 workshops were presented all day, imparting a wealth of information about finding a great job “fit”, and how to improve your resume, online presence and interviewing skills. In our Community Room, 15 businesses were on site, ready to hire for jobs in our local area. The library wishes to thank all of the organizations, representatives and attendees for making this a truly successful community event.
Below is a listing of all the participating organizations. SEE PHOTOS of the day HERE!
