In 2017, the Cleve J. Fredricksen Library will celebrate 60 years of nurturing a love of literacy via a variety of formats: print, auditory, visual, and experiential. To commemorate the significant milestone, we hosted a celebratory event at the West Shore Country Club, sponsored by the Greg and Susan Sutliff Foundation. The evening featured an original score written by 15-year old, Zev Malina, to Robert McCloskey’s award-winning children’s book, Blueberries for Sal. Zev read the book aloud while accompanied by Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra Maestro, Stuart Malina and five members of the Symphony. The evening also featured live and silent auctions. Proceeds from the event will be used to augment our collection of print and digital materials, support programs and make building enhancements.
In conjunction with this event, Silent and Live Auctions were held.
Other celebratory events will be held at the library throughout the year, but we hope you can join us for this intimate evening event that will combine the love of reading with a unique symphonic performance.
Thank you to the members of the Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra , Zev and Stuart Malina, our sponsors, auction item donors, guests, volunteers and staff for a wonderful 60th Anniversary Celebration at West Shore Country Club!
