The purpose of the Local Poverty: Up Close and Personal project is to empower residents in poverty to share their stories -- their lives -- through photographs and narratives; to make us aware of poverty within the area and what we all have in common; and to educate our communities as to how they can help those in need.
On display from May 1 through May 31
Awareness and education will lead to action – and an improvement in the services provided to the poor in our area. The project exists to offer a vibrant, thoughtful conversation about local poverty, from its conception to its current state in our society. The overall goal is to increase awareness and understanding of poverty and its impact on all communities, in order to improve advocacy for the poor.
This exhibit will be available for viewing in Meeting Room A.
