Business Office Assistant

It's All Here at the Bosler Memorial LibraryThe Bosler Memorial Library in Carlisle, PA, is seeking a successful candidate for the position of Business Office Assistant. This position assists with the routine duties of the Business Office and provides assistance with special projects and reporting when necessary. The position is responsible for all aspects of the payroll processes including preparing biweekly payroll.

This is a part-time, 20 hours per week position. The starting salary for this position is $12.12 per hour. This position is non-exempt status. This position is eligible for some benefits. Pennsylvania law requires that criminal history records checks be conducted on all prospective employees, including those 17 years of age or younger.

Minimum Qualifications

Education/Training: Associate's degree in Accounting or Business related field preferred. Training in standard office software.

Experience: Two year general accounting experience. Two years active experience using MS Office Suite or equivalent. Proficiency with 10-key operations.

Required: State driver's license or State issued identification card, excellent customer service and communication skills, ability to lift 25 lbs. unassisted, to place materials on high and low shelves. A criminal background check, child abuse clearance and FBI fingerprinting are required for this position.

Primarily works indoors, seated at a desk, using a computer. Attends meetings and planning sessions. Provides own transportation and is reimbursed accordingly.

Functions & Responsibilities

  1. Responsible for processing biweekly payroll, including interfacing with TimeForce and iSolved.
  2. Maintains spreadsheets relevant to employee payroll deductions.
  3. Update all payroll changes related to salary, banking information, pension and etcetera.
  4. Advertise for Bosler open staffing positions, vet resumes and schedule interviews.
  5. Process and orient new employees.
  6. Assists with human resources duties and maintenance of personnel records.
  7. Processes clearances for new and renewing employees.
  8. Tracks employees' Continuing Education and Certifications.
  9. Count down and reconcile cash drawers. Maintain fine sheet spreadsheet.
  10. Reviews monthly bank reconciliations.
  11. Fingerprinting duties.
  12. Performs other duties as assigned.
