May Reading Challenge for Adults & Teens

Get Caught ReadingMay is National Get Caught Reading Month! See which CATCH (a.k.a. “challenge”) inspires your next book choice and join us! This challenge is open to all adults and 6th graders and up. To complete the challenge, finish at least ONE book challenge by May 31st. Click here for full details.

To complete the challenge and be entered in the prize drawings, finish at least ONE book challenge by May 31st.

There are 5 book challenge options in the “I Was Caught” reading challenge:

  • #1 Catch Your Breath - Read a book, fiction or non-fiction, that makes you catch your breath out of surprise or fear.
  • #2 Catch A Break - Read a book that contains the word “luck” or “lucky” in the title.
  • #3 Catch Your Lunch - Read a biography or a non-fiction book about an invention, entrepreneur or corporation.
  • #4 Catch The Wave - Read a book that is new to you – new genre, new author or new format – from your usual selections.
  • #5 Catch You Later - Read a book containing a storyline involving a goodbye – either a farewell, relocation or funeral.

Receive an additional prize entry for each additional book challenge option completed. Each option may only be completed one time, for a total of 5 completed options for this reading challenge.

BONUS: Get CAUGHT Reading @ Amelia Givin Library!
Do you prefer the big, comfy chairs in the adult fiction room with the cool spiral staircase, or resting your book on the table while you sit opposite the huge windows in the front room? Or maybe under the shade trees outside? Find your spot at Amelia Givin Library, enjoy some reading time, and then ask a staff person to sign off on your challenge entry form. Spending 15 minutes of your reading time in the comfort of the Amelia Givin Library will earn ONE extra entry in the reading challenge drawing.

Drop off your completed reading challenge entry form at the front desk by Saturday, May 31st to be entered to win 1 of 2 prizes AND pick up your May “I Was Caught” reading challenge button (pictured above).
