This month's feature is spoken word artist Shane Tanzymore A.K.A Tru N Deed!
Shane Tanzymore has been writing poetry since 5th-grade English class trying to express himself to a bunch of kids who didn’t look like him. What started out as a vehicle for him to find a voice quickly evolved into a way for his many voices to find themselves. He is a child of early- to mid-80s, hip hop, Shakespeare, Hardy, 1984 and cartoons., Heavily influenced by music, Shane was inspired by the 1991 release of Nevermind and Reg E Gaines performance on MTV Unplugged and motivated him to step onto the stage and perform his own material.

In 2007, he moved to York, Pa and founded the wordWIDE collective, a group of local artists dedicated to bringing different and more modern forms of poetry and music to the area by setting up open mics and producing shows that brought artists from Baltimore, DC, Philly and NYC to the stage. For five years, through their open mic series ArtOfficial Mics, they engaged the broader central PA communities.

Currently, he is the Director of Product Delivery for Global Digital Commerce at Under Armour and serves as the  Chief Dynamics Officer with Notre Maison Connects, a Baltimore non-profit organization dedicated to one mission -- to make connections for those in need. All contributions from tonight’s performance will go directly to that organization as it looks to help Baltimore youth find the connections they need by providing them life skills and opportunity to grow their connections with themselves.

You are it going to want to miss this performance!
