Carol Clark Williams is poet laureate emeritus of York, Pennsylvania and a Pushcart nominee. Her work has won state, local and national awards, and she is widely published online and in print. She won the 2020 Westmoreland (Arts and Heritage Festival) Award for her poem, Origin of the Fire, and first place for her short story, Endings. A rostered artist for PA’s Arts in Education Program, her favorite occupation is teaching poetry workshops for high school students, at senior citizen centers, support groups, and to residents of prisons and halfway houses. The National Federation of State Poetry Societies presented the 2017 Above and Beyond Award to Carol in recognition of her work with young poets. She is the author of two poetry collections: Stories of the Tribe and Escaped Without Injury.
