Thanks to the generosity of Camp Hill Borough, Hampden Township and Lemoyne Borough, we will be giving away a 2014 Family Pool Membership for each municipal pool!

Summer Reading for ALL ages!
FIZZ, BOOM, READ - Summer Reading Club 2014! - Monday, June 9 through Wednesday, August 6 - Summer is packed with exciting performers and programs! This 9 week program will feature reading activities, with programs for children preschool age through 6th grade.
Teen Summer Reading 2014: SPARK a Reaction! - Monday, June 9 through Wednesday, August 6 - Read great books, write short reviews and earn book prizes. The more reviews you write the more entries you get into our grand prize drawings. Eureka! Fredricksen's Adult Summer Reading Program - Monday, June 9 through Sunday, August 31 - Eureka! You have found it! Or... at least you will find a new favorite book when you participate in another great summer of reading for adults.




Friday, June 13 from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm
Camp Hill Dentists Brice Arndt, DDS and Robert Kolts, DDS are partnering with the Cleve J. Fredricksen Library to offer Free Dentistry Day: Giving Back To Our Community One Smile At A Time. During those hours, Dr. Arndt and Dr. Kolts and their staff will offer free cleanings, fillings and extractions to anyone requesting their services. Each patient will have their choice of one service, and patients will be seen on a first-come, first-served basis at 3975 Trindle Road, Camp Hill. Appointments will not be accepted. Last year, over 120 people were seen by the dentists and staff.  GET DETAILS HERE

Smithsonian Folklife Festival
BUS TRIP to Washington DC
Saturday, June 28 at 8:30 am

Join us as we partner with Susquehanna Folk (sfmsfolk.org) and travel to the annual Smithsonian Folklife Festival, held on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., rain or shine. At the festival, you will find many diverse, authentic, living traditions—both old and new. The focus this year is on both China and Kenya. Register online or get more info on the festival HERE


Win a $450 Bike - tickets on sale now!
The Cleve J. Fredricksen Library will hold a Bike Raffle to coincide with the 2014 Tour de France. Through the generosity of our sponsor, Holmes Cycling & Fitness, we are offering a bike of your choice, valued at up to $450 to our lucky raffle winner.
Tickets will be sold at the Reference Desk, and at various events through the drawing date of July 27 or until 500 tickets are sold, whichever comes first. Cost is $10 per ticket with a limit of 500 tickets being sold. Drawing will be held on Sunday, July 27th at 2 pm in the main atrium of the library. The winner does not need to be present to win. Participation in the Fredricksen Library Loop continues to grow, and is eagerly anticipated by both runners and walkers. Last year’s event was a tremendous success, with over 450 runners and walkers participating. Check-in and registration for both the 5K race and the Fun Run & Walk begins at 7 a.m. Start time for the 5K Race is at 8:20 a.m. and the 1 Mile Fun Run & Walk starts at 8:25 a.m. Registration and parking will be at the Camp Hill United Methodist Church parking lot, 417 22nd Street, Camp Hill, PA.

Summer Concerts Return!
Trinidad & Tobago Baltimore Steel Orchestra starts the 2014 Summer Concerts on the Lawn with a dynamic evening as they bring a touch of the Caribbean to the Fredricksen Library.  This stunning group, named Baltimore's official steel drum band, are masters of the steel drum - a lively show for all ages!

Thor: The Dark World
Tuesday, June 24 at 2 pm
Summer blockbusters and books adapted to movies fill our big screen! Come dressed in a costume related to the movie and you might win a prize! In this 2013 hit, Jane Foster is possessed by a great power and Thor must protect her from a new threat of old times: the Dark Elves. Rated PG-13. Parent viewing guide information is available at the Reference Desk. For teens ages 12-18, in grades 7-12. Refreshments provided by the Friends of Fredricksen. No registration necessary.

Learn how Science (and bugs) can lead to a career and world-wide opportunities! The Bug Man returns to the library with his displays and his vast knowledge of bugs. Fredricksen Library now provides a pick-up and drop-off site for library materials at the Recreation Building, 5001 Hampden Park Dr., Mechanicsburg, PA 17050, just off Sporting Hill Road.
