State Budget Update
The state budget impasse is finally over. Public libraries took a big hit in funding, with an overall decrease of 27%. The Amelia Givin Library will have some difficult decisions to make over the next few months as to what services may need to be cut or eliminated in 2010 & beyond. With the available funding, we will do our best to continue providing quality service to you & your family.
Monthly Read-At-Home for Kids
To encourage early reading, the Amelia Givin Library offers a monthly reading incentive program for children ages 2 thru grade 5. Pick up a reading log each month to encourage your child to read daily. Place a sticker on the log for each day they read or you read to them. When completed, bring the log to the library for a special surprise.
The Mary Jemison Story
Join us on Thurs., Nov. 12 at 7pm as storyteller, Ann Griffith, presents "Two Voices Falling", a first-person account of the life of Mary Jemison. Jemison(1743-1833), an American frontierswoman captured in what is now Adams Co. as a teen & later adopted into the Seneca nation. Suitable for 4th graders thru adult.
