The Foundation's purpose is to:
- Seek regional funding opportunities to improve library services in Cumberland County, PA
- Receive gifts from individuals and organizations for the improvement and support of library services in Cumberland County, PA
Formed in 2006, all gifts to the Cumberland County Library System Foundation support the Cumberland County Library System and its member libraries' mission:
- To meet the cultural, educational and informational needs of Cumberland County library users and community residents.

Foundation Accepts EITC Donations
The library system’s non-profit Foundation is approved to receive Educational Income Tax Credit (EITC) donations from businesses for its annual summer reading program. (See news release.)
The library system’s annual summer reading program provides a wide range of free activities designed to foster a love of reading and strengthen students’ reading, writing, speaking, listening and learning skills.
The Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program is administered by the Department of Community and Economic Development. It gives tax credits to businesses that make contributions to Educational Improvement Organizations, like the Cumberland County Library System Foundation, that provide innovative educational programs for preschool children through grade 3 students.
