How do I get started?
Mobile Phone or iPad:
The first time you are using this method:
1. Install the mobile app from: OverDrive, App Store, Google Play, etc.
2. If you do not have an Adobe ID, you will need to set up a free account.
3. Open the OverDrive app and authorize your Adobe ID account.
Each time you use this method:
4. Open the OverDrive app.
5. Click 'Get Books' button and search for your library by name or zip code.
6. Browse for a title and then check out by clicking 'Borrow'
7. Choose Capital Area Library District and enter your library barcode.
8. Click Download.
9. Choose any compatible format (Kindle will not be compatible; use the Kindle App for Kindle books), then click 'Confirm & Download'.
Kindle Device or Kindle App:
1. Visit the Capital Area Digital Media Online website and browse for a title.
2. Click the 'Borrow' button for the Kindle Book format.
3. Proceed to check out by choosing Cumberland County Library System
4. Enter your library card barcode.
5. Click Download.
6. Choose the 'Kindle' format, then click 'Confirm & Download'
7. Amazon.com will open. Choose 'Get library book'
8. You will be prompted to log in to your Amazon.com account.
9. Choose your device from the 'Deliver to' menu.
10.The title will be available the next time you connect to your device.

Other Devices:

1. Install the Adobe Digital Editions software on your home computer.
2. If you do not have an Adobe ID, you will need to set up a free account.
3. Open Adobe Digital Editions software and follow the set up instructions.
4. Authorize your Adobe ID to be used with the software.
5. Click Activate and then Finish.
Each time you use this method:
6. Visit the Capital Area Digital Media Online website.
7. Browse for a title and then check out by clicking 'Borrow'
7. Choose Capital Area Library District and enter your library barcode.
8. Click Download.
9. Choose any compatible format (Kindle will not be compatible; use the Kindle App for Kindle books), then click 'Confirm & Download'.
10.Connect your eReader to your computer and then transfer the title using Adobe Digital Editions (print) or OverDrive Media Console (audio).
