Build a Better World!

Adult Summer Learning Program

June 3-July 28, 2017

This year, it’s not just the kids who get to earn prizes for reading and learning! Starting June 3, you are invited to join us for the Adult Summer Learning Program with the theme (and aim!) of Building a Better World.

How do I register? Please register online or at the Summer Learning Program Kickoff on June 3. If you don’t have internet access, you can register on a computer at the library. After you register, stop by the reference desk on the main floor of the library to pick up a folder with a bookmark, list of upcoming events, and a way to keep track of your reading challenges.

How does the program work? Using our summer learning program website, you can keep track of your reading progress over the summer. Log your books at the Summer Learning Program website beginning June 3. If you don’t have access to the internet at home, you can update your reading progress at the library. Every week, there will be a raffle for prizes (PDF, 46KB, 1 page) that include books, gift cards to local businesses, and more! Each book you read and record on the website increases your chances of winning! At the end of the program, all participants will receive a coupon for a free book at the Friends of the Library Book Sale in October.

Want a challenge? If you want to change up your reading life a bit, you can participate in the 2017 Summer Reading Challenge and earn extra prizes. Pick one, two or three categories below and write down the titles you read. At the end of July, bring in your reading challenge sheet (PDF, 102KB, 1 page) to get your prize and be entered for the grand prize drawing. Here are the categories and prizes:
