Great Short Stories of the Masters
The Great Books Discussion Group invites you to join them to read and discuss some of the world’s best literature on the Second and Fourth Wednesdays of every month in the Browsing Room of the New Cumberland Public Library. A list of readings for the year is available in the library. Come and share your thoughts. In January, the Wednesday Great Books Group is meeting on January 10th and January 24th.
The Wednesday Great Books Group is using Great Short Stories of the Masters edited by Charles Neider, ISBN 9780815412533, for 2018’s book discussions. This is a one-volume collection of the great literary masters’ short stories. These selections include stories that are irregular in content and form, and portray the irrationality, turmoil, passion, and poetry of life. All this, the short story at its best, is uniquely capable of conveying, for in its very shortness lies its greatest strength.
