Cumberland County Library System is running a project to loan Mobile Wi-Fi Hotspots to our customers! Our T-Mobile Wi-Fi Hotspots are easy-to-use devices that connect your tablet, laptop and other Wi-Fi-enabled devices to the Internet. You can connect up to 15 devices to 4G LTE and 3G networks.
How do I check out the device?
Who can check out a hotspot?
Any cardholder with a valid Cumberland County Library System card can borrow a Mobile Wi-Fi Hotpsot. Don't have a card? Apply here.
How long can I borrow it?
You can borrow it for 30 days. If the device is not returned, a fee of $84.99 will be added to your account. Overdue hotspots will have Internet access deactivated within 48 hours beyond their due date and cannot be reactivated by the customer.
How do I return it?
You can return the hotspot to any CCLS location or book drop, just like other items. You must return the device with all of the original packaging and accessories.
Can I renew it?
You can renew the hotspot up to three (3) times if there are no holds and your library card account is in good standing.
How much does it cost?
Borrowing and using the device is free!
Please observe the due date. There is a $ .30 per day late fee. Devices are considered lost if they are 10 or more days late. If the device is lost or damaged beyond repair, a fee of $84.99 will be charged to your library account.
What if I don't return the hotspot?
Overdue hotspots will have Internet access deactivated within 48 hours beyond the due date and cannot be reactivated by the customer.
Devices are considered lost if they are 10 or more days late, and a fee of $84.99 will be charged to your library account. Failure to pay that fee or return the device will result in the library sending your account to collections.
What information about my Internet usage, if any, is tracked by the library?
Your Internet usage is not tracked by the library. While using the library's hotspot you are governed by the same rules as our Internet Policy. (PDF file)
