Support Bosler

Step Up: For Literacy, Learning and Community

Would you like to make a positive impact in your community? You can by "stepping up" with a gift in support of Bosler Memorial Library's annual fund campaign. Bosler Memorial Library offers free and equal access to people of all ages, genders, races and financial means in the greater Carlisle area. But it's only possible with your help.

Click on the "Donate" button at right to donate now.

By "stepping up" with a gift to the annual fund, you will support:

  • Babies, toddlers and preschoolers as they develop a love for reading and learning in Storytime programs;
  • Job-seekers as they advance their careers with the use of computers and free Internet access;
  • Students seeking guidance to heighten their knowledge while doing research;
  • Book and movie lovers, magazine and newspaper readers, audio book listeners and others seeking to expand their intake of new and different reading materials and entertainment;
  • School-age children eager to strengthen their participation in programs on science, art, music, history, technology and other subject areas beyond what is available in school;
  • Teens engaging in learning and socializing in a safe place outside of school;
  • Music lovers of all ages amplifying their musical experiences through free monthly concerts;
  • Homebound seniors reconnecting with others through the Service to Adult Readers (STAR) program;
  • Prisoners at the Cumberland County Prison improving themselves through reading via a weekly book-lending program;
  • Volunteers fulfilling a need for meaningful work in their community;

And much, much more!

While Bosler Memorial Library receives some public funding from Cumberland County and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, gifts and grants are essential for covering more than 22% of annual expenses. Without your support, some children might not have access to storytime, many library books and other collections items would not be purchased, public access to computers and the Internet would be cut, and homebound seniors would not receive regular delivery of reading materials.

Thank you to all who have already contributed to what has been a successful campaign so far. And a special thanks to the McCormick Family Foundation for a challenge grant of $10,000, which matched new gifts received during November and December 2016. With your help, we can do so much more.

Please consider "stepping up" in support of literacy, learning and a downtown gathering place for all with your tax-deductible gift to ensure that the library materials, services and programs that you enjoy continue to be available for everyone in the greater Carlisle community. Thanks!
