You Helped Us Solve the Mystery!
A great big THANK YOU to everyone who gave in response to the 2015-16 annual campaign mystery appeal! Between November 1 and December 31, 2015, more than 360 donors gave $37,242 in direct response to the appeal, a new record for Bosler Memorial Library's annual fund campaign! And, thanks to so many of these donations being from new donors to the annual fund, the Library will be receiving a matching grant in the amount of $10,000 from the McCormick Family Foundation, bringing the total up to $47,242.
With just a little less than $3,000 still needed to meet the $50,000 "ransom" to get the portrait of J. Herman Bosler back, we can now reveal the identity of its kidnapper. If you followed the clues during November and December, you may be interested to learn that five of the suspects (The Descendant, The Professor, The Art Collector, The Attorney, and The Volunteer) happen to be one and the same person. The remaining suspect, The Mystery Writer, is the angry ex-spouse of the other person. The Mystery Writer took the portrait and left the ransom note to try to "frame" the other person into getting into trouble with the law.
