"David Baldacci was a practicing attorney in Washington, D.C., for 10 years, but in his heart he was always a writer. “I’ve been writing since I was a kid,” Baldacci, who will speak at a Carlisle book festival on Saturday, said during a recent interview. “When I was 16, I was trying to sell short stories to The New Yorker. I wrote essays, short stories, novellas, screenplays, teleplays. You just keep going, keep writing until something happens.”
Author David Baldacci will be the keynote speaker Saturday during the Celebrate the Book festival at Carlisle Expo Center.
He sold his first novel, “Absolute Power,” when he was 34. The book was a big hit, and was made into a 1997 movie starring Clint Eastwood and Gene Hackman. That same year, People magazine named him one of the 50 most beautiful people in the world."
