Some questions about the future e-books are bringing us: PennLive letters

As I was downloading an e-book from the library link, I wondered — just where are we going with this technology? The library has thousands of printed-on-paper books. These books would last for hundreds of years under the proper conditions. Someone could pick up this book in 2114 and read its contents. Will anybody be able to read the e-book I just downloaded?
