Mechanicsburg library to hold Dr. Seuss birthday celebration

The Joseph T. Simpson Public Library and Grace United Methodist Church in Mechanicsburg will host a two-part birthday celebration for Dr. Seuss on Saturday, March 2.

The celebration is open to preschool through elementary-aged children and will begin at the church, at 216 S. Market St., with a breakfast of green eggs and ham from 8:30 to 10 a.m.

Children may then come to the library, at 16 N. Walnut St., from 10:15 to 11:30 a.m. to make crafts and listen to a selection of Dr. Seuss’ stories.

The event is free to the public, though registration is required by Thursday, Feb. 28.

Parents can register their children by visiting the children’s library or calling 766-0171. Parents can also register through the church by calling 766-3282.
